As seen in the pictures, this distinctively styled wooden pedestal has striking "mid-century modern" lines, captured in one unique rendering by the artisan. Trying to describe this knockout is gonna fall short -- it is AMAZING and HEAVY -- this is no "lightweight" piece.
The pedestal is a LARGE piece of functional art, intricately constructed by the artist/maker with dozens of interlocking pieces of wood. It comes from a New York estate and seems to be one-of-a-kind. YOU WILL NOT SEE ANYTHING LIKE THIS ANYWHERE AND ANY SIMILAR OFFERINGS ON SITES LIKE FIRST DIBS ARE PRICED AT 3 OR 4 TIMES THE PRICE OFFERED HERE.
No damage whatsoever to the item, so it has kept well over the years. The pictures are complete and accurate. All original with everything in place. The photos are provided to demonstrate the A-1 condition of this artistic piece, which grabs your attention -- especially the workmanship at its slimmed center -- unbelievable. I have dusted off & wiped down the item, but have not otherwise tried to clean it. Everything is original, and it appears unsigned.
MEASUREMENTS: 42 1/2" tall & 22" wide at the top & 11" wide at the slimmed center. 100% all original. All of the joints, connections and sculpted parts are in great shape.
