ANTIQUE (c.1890-1900) PEDESTAL PARLOR TABLE WITH INTRICATE HAND-CARVED & INLAID BIRD MOTIF
ANTIQUE (c.1890-1900) PEDESTAL PARLOR TABLE WITH INTRICATE HAND-CARVED & INLAID BIRD MOTIF -- Striking Presentation With Multiple Woods Used!
This wonderful piece is a all-original walnut, maple and mahogany parlor table with hand-carved and inlaid accents accomplished to such a fine degree that it is really a work of art. It is ONE-OF-A-KIND.
The piece is 100% authentic, with all of its original components present, all original carved accents totally undisturbed -- ALL complete and right. The table is unmarked but dates from the 1890-1900 time period. The construction is very solid and, since it is bigger than the dainty Victorian parlor tables usually seen from the period, it can actually be functional. This is NOT a cheap modern"knock-off" to be used only for "show." The wood grain is just worn and lovely, a great old patina, especially after a proper reconditioning.
SALE PRICE: $950
The photos are provided to demonstrate the condition of this pedestal parlor table, which comes from a New York Estate. It has the marks expected after a century of service BUT is still absolutely SOLID IN EVERY RESPECT. We have dusted it off but have not otherwise tried to clean it. The contrasting woods remain very attractive and the crafting is both expertly rendered and distinctive. This is a unique and lovely piece from "back in the day."
MEASUREMENTS and DETAILS: 24 1/2" wide, 21 1/2" deep, 33" high The table is graceful with its hand-carved inlay, as noted in the pictures. It has very appealing proportions and the art captures attention -- even from a distance. Because of its size, it is perfect as a functional item or would make a unique accent piece -- NO ONE ELSE WILL HAVE ANYTHING LIKE IT.
