Antique 19th Century 3 Gallon 2-Handle Stoneware Crock from Neville Plantation Stoneware Crock From a Port Hudson, LA Barn at Neville Plantation
This E. Feliciana Plantation piece is no "lightweight." It is an original, all correct & right HEAVY piece!
Sales Price: $125
This piece is a antique 3 gallon heavy stoneware crock found on the plantation property, which is a rare larger size. It dates from the 1800s era but remains in EXCELLENT condition. All handles in place and UNCHIPPED, which is unusual. The top is also UNCHIPPED.
It measures 10" wide, w/ a 6" opening by 14" tall. It is a 200-year-old antique but is in A-1 condition with NO cracks, chips or dings. 100% all plantation-original.
INSCRIPTIONS and DETAILS: See the pictures. Beyond the inked "3" on the outside, no marks evident, as seen in the photos. I have no guess at the other history of this old plantation crock, but it does appear to have been stored a long time. Neville Plantation had a working blacksmithing, brick-making and dairy operation up through the early 1900s.
