This old plantation statement piece is a 7-foot tall, well-crafted mahogany bookcase-secretary desk with lovely carved accents, amazing details with a metal accented rolltop desk cover feature AND a rarely seen additional feature -- hand carved capitals surrounding the top and 2 sides. It comes from a Neville Plantation estate (Port Hudson, LA) and is TOTALLY ORIGINAL. The construction is very solid, the carving striking. Crafted around 1870-80, it would be the top feature in any plantation decor room.
