Unique Antique Victorian Hand-Carved Black Walnut Plantation Dressing Mirror -- ALL Complete and Right...and B-I-G.
This very distinctive Victorian beauty is a 8-foot+tall hand-crafted black walnut dressing mirror with ornate carved accents -- it POPS and is simply splendid. It came to Neville Plantation in Port Hudson from an old east coast estate and is TOTALLY ORIGINAL and CORRECT. I've never seen anything like it --- it is a singular and splendid piece. The construction is very solid, the carving striking, the old walnut gorgeous. Crafted for a wealthy family around 1880 to 1890, it was made for a grand home and has survived during 3 separate centuries to make a real statement in a modern era.
In addition, it is a very unusual piece in that it retains ALL all of the ORIGINAL hardware -- including the ornate pins holding the mirror in place-- which have no deficits. The original mirror is completely intact -- and these are often replaced on other similar pieces, when they can be found at all. Here, it is present and correct. All sections are hand-made and dovetailed, with all of the original gorgeous hand-shaped/carved walnut.
