Fantastic Solid Mahogany Late 18th/Early 19th Century Antique Hand Carved Chippendale Highboy Dresser With Original Hardware, Finials Casters From Neville Plantation Estate -- 1780 to 1830s Era -- VERY LARGE Piece!

This piece is an all-original and guaranteed-to-bowl-you-over solid mahogany 200 year old+ Chippendale style hand-carved 2-piece dresser with original hardware and inials. The piece is 100% authentic, with its original working drawers intact, original fasteners -- ALL complete and right. It comes from a Neville Plantation outbuilding emptied in the 1990's when I acquired the property, where it had been stored for many decades.

It is a classic Chippendale-style piece from the late 1700's and features a stunning "look," with striking curve proportions and wonderful carving work on both the exterior and the accents. The construction is very solid -- as with all mahogany highboy pieces from this era. This was NOT a cheap "knock-off" -- not back in the day and not now.

SALE PRICE: $2,500 -- A very good price for this piece.

The photos are provided to demonstrate the condition of this splendid old 10-drawer dresser, which was retrieved from a barn, after all! It has the marks of that service BUT is still absolutely SOLID IN EVERY RESPECT.

I have cleaned out the contents, dusted it off inside and out but have not otherwise tried to clean it. Even in its current condition, the mahogany remains very attractive and the crafting of the carving work just knocks you out, honestly. This is a unique and lovely piece from "back in the day." All interior drawers slide in and out beautifully and the hand-crafted dovetailing is shown in the pictures. The wood grain is just worn and lovely, a great old patina on the inlays, especially after a proper reconditioning. The locking hardware still appears to work but the key to the piece has been lost along its journey somewhere. Replacements are easily found on the web, though.

MEASUREMENTS and DETAILS:

The dresser has very appealing proportions, especially for those of us who dig the old Chippendal stuff. It is perfect as a functional item or would make an accent piece that would catch everyone's attention.

Height 85″ (7' 1" tall!); Width 40″; Depth 19". THIS IS A LARGE OLD PIECE!

100% all original. The drawers slide easily open and closed JUST as they should, all connections and joints tight and AOK and all hardware is original and right. VERY COLLECTIBLE AND PRICED RIGHT.
